When a disgraced corporate manipulator with the unwanted gift of "Dark Empathy" is haunted by the vision of a small-town murder, he must risk his sanity and his life to find the killer before his own dark past catches up with him.

Series Synopsis

Ethan was once the ultimate corporate weapon: a "Dark Empath" capable of feeling, manipulating, and weaponising the emotions of others to close multimillion-pound mergers for the ruthless Maggie. But a gift that allows you to feel everyone’s pain eventually breaks the man carrying it. After a violent fallout in a London warehouse where he chose a friend's life over a profit margin, Ethan vanished into the grey fringes of society, living rough with only his scruffy terrier, Pip, for company .

Now a hollowed-out version of his former self, Ethan is haunted by "Nightmare Visions"—vicarious experiences of crimes being committed in real-time. Driven by a compulsion he cannot outrun, he arrives in the quiet, suspicious town of Oakhaven, where the disappearance of Kerry Blackwood has left a wake of grief and secrets.

As Ethan navigates the town’s jagged emotional landscape, he must use his fading, painful gift to uncover a killer, all while being hunted by Gus, Maggie’s veteran enforcer. In a world of swirling auras and hidden traumas, Ethan is no longer looking for a payday—he’s looking for a way to stop the noise in his head and find a reason to keep his own heart beating.
