Daniel Powell - Local musical artist

I created a music video for his single titled Slow Day:

'My experience of working with Si was wholly positive, despite Storm Doris raging around us and the fact that I was suffering from a bad cold! Si worked quickly and efficiently setting up equipment and arranging shots, all the while ensuring I was comfortable and entertained. I was happy for Si to take the lead creatively, but he was always keen to ensure that I was happy with the direction we were taking. From a technical point of view, the resulting film is pretty faultless to my eye – the lighting, focus, editing all appear incredibly professional. I was really impressed with what Si managed to achieve from a relatively brief shoot.'

Jordan Annalise Wilson - lead actress in short film 'Red Kite'.

'Working with Si Andrews and his team on ‘Red Kite’ was a very enjoyable experience. The screenplay and dialogue for this specific film were written so informally you could understand the characters and the depth straight away. Shooting the film in just 2 days was very inspiring, especially as I, myself, am pursuing a career in filmmaking.

The process of rehearsals and production were ever so professional and quick, it was an exhilarating feeling where you hardly had time to stop and think about what you were doing – and that’s the best type of environment to work in. Si, from his direction to camera work were all so professional, and it was a true honour to work alongside him.'

Nicholas Guest - Co-Creator and performer with world-renowned Beatles tribute act 'Like the Beatles'

'My band 'Like The Beatles' had the pleasure of working with Simon Andrews for a photo session. I was impressed with Simon's ability to organise the members of the band to get the best out of us in the time we had. Simon was also proficient with his camera and use of light. Simon was a please to work with and very professional throughout.'

This summer I had the pleasure off working with Si at the Village Green music festival in Chalkwell Park, Essex

Si was part of the team responsible for the filming (and vision mixing) of the bands for the big screens that played to the 30,000 strong crowd.

It was an intense day - there were only 4 of us -and Si’s professionalism, energy and grace under pressure made him an invaluable asset.

He would be a welcome addition to any production, large or small.'

Kirsti McLean - Course Leader BA (Hons) Fashion Design - South Essex College.

I helped in creating the University exhibition for the Fashion Design degree 3rd Years students final show. Interviewing each of the students on their process, influences and additional recording audio sections of the studio to provide an inside experience of their working process.

'Si Andrews undertook a sound recording for the BA Fashion Design Creative Pattern Cutting exhibition. He organised booking relevant equipment and coordinated recordings of both studio sounds and student discussions relating to the work being exhibited. Si was professional and helpful and ensuring that the recordings were provided on the appropriate format by the required deadline. He displayed excellent team working skills supporting his peer and I would have no hesitation in recommending him for similar projects n the future. The inclusion of the sound recordings added an extra dimension to the work on show, helping to make the exhibition a great success.'

Metal Arts Organisation - Southend, Essex

Stephanie Stevenson: Administrator:

'Si Andrews first started volunteering at Metal, an Arts Organisation based in Southend on Sea. He has worked for the last 5 years at our annual event, Village Green, which is an Arts and Culture Festival based in Chalkwell Park, attracting crowds of up to 25,000 people.

Si has worked under many capacities:-

He was assisting international film maker Andy Delaney with the filming of the event on the large main stage screen. In previous years he has been part of the general Production Crew, he has assisted in the building of the stages prior to the event, has worked under the Health and Safety team, Artist Liaison officer, Production runner, Ticketing Steward, Gate Ambassador and has been a major contributor to the Photography team who document the event.

Working at Metal as a volunteer, Si has shown great maturity within every role he has undertaken albeit working with bands, artists, VIPs, volunteers, Freelancers and Metal staff.

He is well organised, totally in control of every situation, works extremely well under pressure and has shown great flexibility with the roles he has worked on.

Si is always polite, shows respect and kindness to everyone he works with, he is a quick learner, a fastworker, is efficient at what he does, and is a great team player.

Earlier this year Si filmed and produced a short film using Chalkwell Hall and Chalkwell Park as his location. He produced a great piece of work, worked well as the Director, managed a small team of colleagues, and worked efficiently and conscientiously.

Si is very mature and has acquired a broad set of transferable skills. He can adapt himself well to work with adults and children alike. He is always reliable, punctual, amiable to work with and enthusiastic about the work he is asked to do. He is a pleasure to work with, honest, trustworthy and would be an asset to any company or organisation.'
